Welcome to Kellison Elementary!
Dear Kellison Families and Community Members,
On behalf of the students and staff members of Kellison Elementary School, I’d like to extend a warm welcome to you! Kellison Elementary, located in Fenton, is a small school with a big heart. We have a thriving school community that works together to provide every child a well-rounded educational experience.
Students at Kellison Elementary are provided a rich academic experience. In addition to learning key curricular concepts across core academic subjects, students extend their learning through classes such as visual art, vocal music, strings instruments, and physical education. Kellison staff members believe in a team approach to help students reach their full potential. Teachers collaborate and work together to create a positive and nurturing school environment.
Kellison is fortunate to have a supportive parent organization known as Kellison PSO. The parents who volunteer their time in this organization regularly collaborate to plan community-building events for our families. In addition, they make it a priority to lead fundraisers so that they may support students and teachers in getting additional items to enhance the educational experience. Throughout the year, our Kellison PSO sponsors events that include our Dance-A-Thon, Spirit Night Bar-B-Que, Trunk or Treat, Trivia Night, Family Dance, and the Kellison Open Golf Tournament.
Outside of the classroom, Kellison students engage in activities to develop themselves in a variety of ways. Students have the opportunity to participate in district-level athletic competitions, join our Kindness Club, or participate in activities such as Girls On the Run or Club Hope. Our students love to be at school and engage in these activities with their school friends.
Every morning on announcements, Kellison students are told these four things:
You matter.
You have a voice.
You are important.
You belong here.
Our mission is to ensure that every child feels like they belong in our school community and they are heard and seen every day.
Thank you for being part of the Kellison Community! Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our students and we look forward to working together!
Sincerely,
Kimberly Dickens
